  • My heart is broken...

    My heart is broken,

    My body is tired,

My mom told me the news.

    The doctor told her,

Not in so many words that my body is tired,

And to have a baby of my own,

Would be to hard on my body now.

    My heart is broken,

I was really hoping for a baby of my own,

If it would have been a girl,

Her name would have been Hope,

    If it was a boy,

His name would have been Allen.

I am not sure why this all happen to me,

And I am sure I will know someday,

Never did I think this would happen to me,

    My heart is broken,

If I hug your little one,

    Or,

    Get them a gift,

    Just be ok with it,

Its my way of making it all ok,

It was my hope to have a baby of my own,

    But my heart is broken.

  • Thank you from Misty!

Hey all!  Angie, Misty's friend, here again.  She asked me to thank all of you for the cards, flowers, and happy thoughts cause they mean a lot to her right now.  My husband and I went to visit her yesterday.  She is taking things day by day as they come and doing everything they ask of her, therapies, etc.  She is very anxious to be done with all of this and be home home though, so keep sending those happy thoughts her way.  She loves and misses you all!

  • More on Misty...

Hey everyone!  Sorry if some of you have been wondering about how Misty was doing.  I have just been waiting until I hear from her to update all of you cause that's easier for her and I hadn't heard from her in a few days.  I just spoke with her on the phone though, so here's the much awaited update...On Thursday night they had to go back in once again and fix the catheder because it had slid back into Misty's  kneck  where it shouldn't be.  They put something in place to stop it from sliding and they also shortened it.  She said that she is feeling better since then, but is still having issues when sitting up making her feel sick.  This could just be from the catherder moving around, but hopefully that will get better now that they have tried to fix that.  She is on bed rest until tomorrow when her doctor comes to see her again.  They have the pump turned on, but right now just have water going through it and it seems to be working ok.  I joked with her and told her that she should ask and see if they can run pop or juice through it, which got a laugh!  As always, Misty is trying to remain up beat, but would just love to be home right now.  She's looking forward to feeling good enough, so that she can go home and finish healing the rest of the way.  That's about it for the moment, but as before I will let you all know when I know more.  As always, just keep sending the positive thought her way as I know she appeciates every single one of them.

  • Misty Update!

Hey all! It's Angie again with another Misty Update...I spoke with Misty last night. She had surgery yesterday morning again due to some complications. Turns out, they had put the cartheder for her meds in her kneck and not in her back where ...it should have been. That was causing the sinal fluid leakage that I mentioned previously. Misty said that she feels a lot better since they did that though, "I can brush my teeth and move my legs now and I feel a lot better!" She's still taking things day by day though and smiling through it, so please continue to send good thoughts her way! I will continue to update as I hear from Misty. :)

  • Update: Misty's Surgery

Hey all, it's Misty's friend Angie again.  I just spoke with Misty on the phone.  She is now in a rehab room, but has to be on bedrest until Monday because unfortunately, whenever she sits up, she gets bad headaches which they think is due to some spinal fluid leaking.  Obviously she would rather be at home, but it's also best to be there so they can figure things out completely.  Despite all this, she was in as good of spirits as can be expected right now.  She taking it all as it comes in stride, and she's tough, so lets all keep her smiling and send good thoughts her way...because thats the way she'd want it!  I will be sure to keep you all as updated as I can!

  • Misty's Surgery

Hey everyone who reads this!  I am Angie, a good friend of Misty's and she has asked me to keep you all updated for her when she has her surgery, so I thought I woud give ya a heads up on who I am and introduce myself.   I have known Misty for a long time cause we met at Camp Courage a number of years ago.   Misty is a strong person and I know she will do fine, but lets all do our best to help her keep that smile on her face!  :)

About Me

  • I am a great girl, just ask! My name is Misty but, my friends call me MD. I am 26 years old and I live in Minnesota!! I was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP) and I have significant lower extremity weakness and atrophy with plasticity requiring bilateral ankle AFOs and a walker for ambulation. I also use a wheelchair for mobility. I have felt that having this disability has been a learning experience and every day is a new challenge. Despite this being a challenge, I am still very active. I have a background in Child and Adult Care and Education from St. Cloud Technical College.
